Arabic Language Programme

The Language of Light Arabic Programme is a carefully designed beginner-level course that offers students with little to no prior knowledge a structured, accessible and engaging introduction to classical and modern standard Arabic.
Gradually paced and centred around the unique needs of beginner students, the programme seeks to build a strong foundation in the core language skills of reading, speaking and listening, providing a stepping stone to more advanced study in our Classical Scholarship Programme.
The course is primarily delivered online utilising a workshop method, seamlessly combining the study of grammatical concepts with fluid conversation in an engaging and enjoyable experience.

Learning Outcomes

· Ability to read and understand basic to intermediate passages in classical Arabic through the recognition and application of core grammatical concepts
· Acquire a classical Arabic language lens for processing and understanding concepts
· Develop a rich and diverse vocabulary utilised in reading and impromptu conversation
· Transition from thinking in English to thinking in Arabic through immersive in class conversation
